Emily started dancing at age 3 in Oxfordshire with her four sisters. Her love for the art form blossomed over the years and in her early teens she began training in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theatre and Contemporary. She gained a distinction in her Advanced 1 ISTD Modern exam, along with a number of RAD and Cecchetti Ballet exams and ISTD Tap.
At 17 Emily gained a place at Performers College where she trained in a variety of dance styles, as well as singing and acting. While training, she returned to Oxford every weekend to teach dance where her passion for dance education was first established.
Expert in Dance Education
After professional dance training, Emily began studying with the ISTD and holds the level 4 Diploma in Dance Education. Since gaining this qualification she has successfully helped a number of students to gain their ISTD Modern Theatre exams.
As well as training with the ISTD, Emily also gained a First Class BA (Hons) degree in Dance Education from the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance. Her training provided a deep insight into dance education across the UK in a range of settings, which she now uses to plan and implement dance programs for MPDA including; managing the Squad Dance groups, designing CPD training courses for teachers, creating the Early Years curriculum for the company and leading the Part Time Pre-Vocational Course.

Action ShotsEmily is passionate about the benefits that dance can bring to students of all ages and adopts a holistic approach to dance education. She holds the company ethos of instilling confidence through dance at the forefront of all her teaching and her work as Manager of MPDA. After joining MPDA in 2018 with just one class per week, she now feels lucky to be able to work with ages one through to adults. Her favourite part of her work is watching students develop a passion for dance as they grow, which she hopes will last a lifetime. She is extremely excited to see where her journey with MPDA takes her and is dedicated to bringing the joys of dance to more students through her work with the MPDA.
