April is a classically and technically trained performer from Australia. She started dancing from the young age of 3 training in Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Gymnastics. At the age of 11 April was one of twenty selected from hundreds who auditioned to join the Queensland Ballet Junior Extension programme. By the age of thirteen she completed her RAD Advanced 1 ballet exam receiving distinction. She then continued her classical training in a one-year full time course at Australian Dance Performance Institute.
April switched to the jazz and musical theatre scene at the age of fifteen where she then achieved her Advanced Diploma in Musical Theatre and Commercial Dance over a two-year course. At just 18 years old April received a full scholarship to Village Nation Dance School, where she trained for a year and initiated her move to Sydney.
April has done film and television work as an ensemble dancer for Australia’s ‘The Voice’, performed in Australian productions of Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker and the 50th Anniversary Gala alongside the Queensland Ballet.
April was fortunate enough to be involved with corporate events as the Lead singer for Hear and Say Charity Ball, Performer for Australia’s 2016 Hair Expo and an ensemble dancer for Jeans for Genes Day Denim Dinner. After performing in Sydney, April decided to move to the UK to pursue and focus on choreographing, teaching and training student’s full time.
April is technique driven but also believes in a positive and nurturing environment for students to thrive in. Building up children’s confidence will allow them to push themselves to the best dancer they can be.
Miss April looks forward to encouraging and guiding children into the industry and taking on the role as Assistant Manager of Mini Professionals Dance Academy.
