Summer term booking will open on Monday the 24th March! Please do put this date in your diary as spaces are available on a first come first served basis. Our timetable will remain predominantly the same with a few adjustments which you can read about in this newsletter. You can also see our Summer term dates just below.

EASTER CAMPS!

DANCE CAMPS: KIDLINGTON & ABINGDON

Booking for our Easter camps is OPEN! We are very excited to be holding a dance camp across the first week of Easter at both our Kidlington studios AND in Abingdon!  Students absolutely LOVE our camps, where they can dance to their heart’s content, practicing jazz, ballet, tap, acro, hip hop and contemporary. The best part of all is that our attendees work towards a production at the end of the week, where friends and family will be invited along to watch. This event is open to both MPDA and non-MPDA members. We are offering a tinies camp (half days) for ages 3-7 as well as a main camp for ages 8+:

EASTER DANCE CAMP: MONDAY 7TH- FRIDAY 11TH APRIL

TINIES: Age 3-7: 9.30am-12.30pm

MAIN: Ages 8+: 9.30am-3.30pm

EASTER MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP

MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP: SHREK THE MUSICAL!

DATES: Mon 14TH-17TH April 2025

VENUE: MPDA STUDIOS, 12 Banbury Rd, Kidlington, OX5 2BT

TINIES CAMP: (age 4-7 ) 9.30am-12.30pm (12.30-3.30pm on Thurs 17th)

MAIN CAMP (age 8-14) 9.30am-3.30pm

Students will be split into age groups and will take part in master classes in all dance styles, as well as singing and acting! Perfect for those who dream of being on stage and strive to be a triple threat. At the end of the 4 days, students will put on a short performance of SHREK The musical for parents to watch! This will also be recorded so that the footage can be shared with other friends and members of the family. Taking place in Kidlington only.

After camp options are also available up to 5.30pm daily.

We are very excited to welcome Miss Ella, Miss Holly and Miss Charlotte to the MPDA team! You can click on their names below to view each teacher’s online profile.

Miss Ella will be taking over our Tuesday Wolvercote dance clubs, our Friday ISTD classes AND she will also be offering 1-1 singing classes at the studios! We’d love to hear from you if your child would be interested in giving a singing lesson a try. Especially if your child is eager to be a triple performing threat! Miss Holly will be our new Monday Abington teacher- taking over from the lovely Miss Sophie who is sadly leaving us due to her full time job. Holly will be teaching Baby ballet, through to teens hip-hop at the Northcourt Centre.

Finally, we welcome Miss Charlotte who is instructing our Monday Dragon School gymnastics club as well as our Friday acro/gymnastics classes. Please note that after Easter, we will be stopping our Friday acro lessons, dedicating our enrolments to Thursdays and Sundays only.

NEW GRADE 5 MODERN CLASS!

Starting after Easter from Friday 25th April.

Miss Ella will be adding an additional ISTD Modern session for students in our older teens age group. Attending this class will mean that your child can enter dance exams with the world recognised federation. Especially important if your child wishes to go on to train professionally or further their dance technique!

FUNDRAISING!

Hungry Caterpillar’ Mother’s Day tea party!

All in aid of Mother’s day, this event is a chance to celebrate all of the hardworking, loving, committed mums out there! 

The studios will be host to a magical picnic- themed around the special book: ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’! Your child will experience this delightful story step by step via creative movement, sensory activities and imaginative play! This scrumptious picnic will be complete with indulgent refreshments for everyone to enjoy. It will certainly be an experience to remember for years to come!

Monday: 3rd March

Join us on Monday 3rd March for the another wonderful soft play coffee morning! Taking place on the first Monday of the month, your little one can come between the hours of 9am-1pm and play at our fantastic facilities. Free, tasty refreshments will be served so you can natter with other parents. Only. £6 per child (includes free entry for 1 adult)

If your Child brings a friend to trial a class, you will receive an INSTANT refund for 1 session. Then, if that friend enrols for the rest of the Spring, you will receive 25% OFF next term’s fees! (For one class). This could be a huge saving of up to £47!

LOOKING BACK ON FEBRUARY!

HALF TERM FUN!

Over the half term, we hosted an array of events! We held two spectacular dance camp days, where the students joined us from 9.30am-3.30pm for all things dance! These singular days were a great taster of our full camp weeks which run over the Easter and Summer holidays. We also had a brilliant day of private lessons which were offered at a discounted rate. We hope that all those students who participated received some invaluable personal tuition which they can take forward with them into the rest of their training. Finally, we invited in 3 professional teachers to offer masterclass workshops for our advanced students, covering hip-hop/K-Pop, ballet and contemporary. It was a real treat and thank you to those who joined us!

FABULOUS COMP TEAM RESULTS!

Oh my goodness- we are SO proud of our competition teams who absolutely shone at the first elite competition of the year; Destination dance!  Our girls work incredible hard every week in class, pushing themselves to attain Miss April’s challenging choreography. Every time they step on stage, they appear more confident, poised and professional. Both our Junior and Senior comp teams are a credit to MPDA!
