Over the February Half term, a group of MPDA students had the experience of their lives when they were invited to perform at Disneyland Paris! Selected from the specialist Disney talent panel, MPDA had been hand picked to perform at the park back in 2019. Unfortunately, then Covid hit which meant that the whole event had to be delayed. But at long last, after much organisation, numerous rehearsals, and a long day of travelling, our dancer’s dreams came true!
25 MPDA students ranging between the ages of 10-18 took part in the event. They performed a 20 minute piece of choreography in front of thousands of park guests. This took place on one of the main stages in Disneyland Paris! The students did a fantastic job and their dancing was flawless. Their costuming, hair and make up all added to the performance quality which made it look highly professional.
Our students impressed the Disney talent panel so much, that they were selected out of all the performance groups to lead the parade! This was an honour and it meant that our dancers led the famous Disney characters on a route of the park. The parade was watched by thousands of guests who were smiling a dancing along with the troupe.
We received incredible feedback from the Disney performing arts team who were incredibly impressed with the talent, composure and professional nature of the MPDA students.
As well as a dancing the students were able to enjoy the park, watch the Disneyland Illumination show and a performance of the Lion King. Students came back truly inspired and it’s certainly an experience they will never forget!
