Summer term booking is OPEN and has been since March 24th!  Some classes are already at full capacity so please do not delay in booking your child’s space for next term. EASTER CAMPS!

DANCE CAMP: KIDLINGTON

We still have a few spaces remaining for our week 1 dance camp!   Students absolutely LOVE our camps, where they can dance to their heart’s content, practicing jazz, ballet, tap, acro, hip hop and contemporary. The best part of all is that our attendees work towards a production at the end of the week, where friends and family will be invited along to watch. This event is open to both MPDA and non-MPDA members. We are offering a tinies camp (half days) for ages 3-7 as well as a main camp for ages 8+:

TINIES: Age 3-7: 9.30am-12.30pm

MAIN: Ages 8+: 9.30am-3.30pm

EASTER MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP

MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP: SHREK THE MUSICAL!

DATES: Mon 14TH-17TH April 2025

VENUE: MPDA STUDIOS, 12 Banbury Rd, Kidlington, OX5 2BT

TINIES CAMP: (age 4-7 ) 9.30am-12.30pm (12.30-3.30pm on Thurs 17th)

MAIN CAMP (age 8-14) 9.30am-3.30pm

Students will be split into age groups and will take part in master classes in all dance styles, as well as singing and acting! Perfect for those who dream of being on stage and strive to be a triple threat. At the end of the 4 days, students will put on a short performance of SHREK The musical for parents to watch! This will also be recorded so that the footage can be shared with other friends and members of the family.

After camp options are also available up to 5.30pm daily.

NEW GRADE 5 MODERN CLASS!

Starting after Easter from Friday 25th April.

Miss Ella will be adding an additional ISTD Modern session for students in our older teens age group. Attending this class will mean that your child can enter dance exams with the world recognised federation. Especially important if your child wishes to go on to train professionally or further their dance technique!

TAYLOR SWIFT DANCE WORKSHOP!

Thursday 10th April: 2pm- 3.30pm: MPDA STUDIOS

Ages 7-14

£15.00 

Celebrate THE woman of the moment and join us for all things Taylor! The brilliant Miss April will be running this workshop where students will get to dance to all different ‘eras’ of Taylor Swift hits. Whether that be her upbeat ‘Shake it off’ or the original ‘Love story’, you’ll feel like one of her backing dancers from her breakthrough tour by the end of the session! All abilities are welcome- even non MPDA dancers so we’d love for you to invite your friends along too.

This workshop is included for our Easter dance camp attendees so there is no need to purchase. Or if you child cannot attend camp and only wants to attend this workshop- then please proceed to book via the link below! Limited spaces.

PRE-VOCATIONAL COURSE: LAUNCHING IN SEPT 2025!

MPDA’s Pre-Vocational Course in Dance and Performance is designed to be taken by students aged 16+ alongside their regular schooling. It is a unique training programme for students seeking to gain places at professional dance colleges, universities or conservatoires. The course is for exceptional students who have the potential and passion to make dance their career! On this course, students will receive:

• Tailored schedule of training

• Broad range of dance styles led by industry professionals

• Weekly 1:1 tuition

• Full audition content (dance solo, songs and monologues)

• Headshots, bodyshots, dance and vocal reels

• Audition prep classes and mock auditions

• Careers advise

• Personal statement guidance and application form help

• Opportunity to gain ISTD and RAD qualifications

• Performance opportunities

PRE-VOCATIONAL COURSE OPEN DAY!

This is a FREE event for all students and parents interested in MPDA’s Pre-Vocational Course in Dance and Performance. Students and parents will benefit from a presentation from the Course Leader, demonstrations from alumni, Q&A, information packs including how to apply.Students will also recieve a class from one of the faculty members where they will learn original Hamiliton choreography.

Refreshments will also be provided. Although this is free, you will still need to book your spot! Please do so via the link below:

MINI BABY CONVENTION!

BABY CONVENTION: Saturday 12^th April: 9am-12.30pm

MPDA STUDIOS, OX5 2BT

We’d love to invite you along for our very special Mini Baby convention: A unique event JUST for parents and babies ages 0- 12 months and expecting mums! 

Join us on April 12th for a morning of all things baby! We will be offering 4 amazing taster sessions as well as a lovely relaxing set up for little ones to play with while parents enjoy a well deserved cuppa and cake!

Tasters include:

– Baby massage

– Parent & baby fitness

– Curious Crawlers movement class

– Baby Yoga

We will be offering a toy and clothes swap so parents can bring along any toys or clothes that they no longer need and swap with others! We will also be asking parents across our classes to bring in any high quality but unwanted items that they would be happy to pass on to another family.

As well as this we will have an amazing Q&A from Jo from JoJo Baby Massage who is a qualified non medical maternity nurse!

And if that wasn’t enough, your ticket also enters you into our prize draw where you can win a range of amazing baby prizes from some incredible businesses including some free class and events from MPDA! For instance you could win 50% off a luxury baby photoshoot with Imogen Florence!

NEW BABY MASSAGE!- Starting in Abingdon

Due to the success of our Kidlington baby massage classes, Miss Jo will be branching out into Abingdon! Starting from Monday 28th April, classes will take place at The Hadland Road community centre from 10.15am-11am. We are offering FREE TRIALS for the session, so if your little one is 6 weeks up to sitting age then we’d love to see you there. A brand new MONTHLY feature in our newsletter will be our  ‘Stars of the month! segment’ ! 1  student from early years, tinies, mids and teens will be nominated by their teachers to be crowned the ‘star of the month’. This could be for a number of reasons; showing great improvement, bringing a smile to the studios, or perhaps that child achieves a new dance step! Either way, it’s a great accolade to aim for and we hope that you’ll be eager to see who has been selected each month!  Our star pupils for MARCH ARE:

EARLY YEARS: Daisy B- “For her lovely gallops and her brilliant listening!”

TINIES: Gabriella K- “for learning her skips in tinies ballet/tap with Miss Emily!”

MIDS: Maddie H- “A great help to the tinies and sets the perfect example for younger students. Maddie practices at home which pays off in class as she is showing brilliant improvements!”

TEENS: Amelie M- ”This past month Amelie has improved in her technique and has shown great dedication to her ballet & jazz classes. Keep it up!”

We must also mention tinies dancer Josie H who has been cast in a new FILM BLOCKBUSTER- starring Jason Stathum! Josie can be spotted on ‘A Working Man’ which is currently at a screen near you. A true Hollywood star on our doorstep- congratulations Josie!
